در سال‌های گذشته برخی تغییرها دربارۀ رده‌بندی پرندگان رخ داده است. یکی از این تغییرها دربارۀ تلیلۀ نوک‌پهن بود. بر اساس آخرین تغییرهای انجام‌شده، سردۀ تلیلۀ نوک‌پهن از Limicola به Calidris تغییر کرده است (Gibson & Baker 2012, Banks 2012). این تغییر در نسخه 10.2 آی.او.سی رخ داده است.

اکنون این تغییر در بیشتر فهرست‌های پرندگان جهان پذیرفته شده است (Clements et al., 2019; del Hoyo et al., 2014-2016; Christidis et al., 2014; Boyd III, 2017; HBW and BirdLife International, 2020; Gill & Donsker, 2020 ).

بنابر این، نام کامل این گونه به شکل زیر تغییر می‌کند:
