در سال‌های گذشته، برخی تغییرها دربارۀ رده‌بندی پرندگان رخ داده است. یکی از این تغییرها دربارۀ آبچلیک شکیل بود. بر اساس آخرین تغییرهای انجام‌شده، آبچلیک شکیل از گروه آبچلیک‌ها به گروه تلیله‌ها منتقل شده است و سردۀ آن نیز از Philomachus به Calidris تغییر کرده است (Gibson & Baker 2012, Banks 2012). این تغییر توسط بیشتر فهرست‌های جهانی پرندگان پذیرفته شده است (Clements et al., 2018; del Hoyo et al., 2014-2016; Christidis et al., 2014; Boyd III, 2017; HBW and BirdLife International, 2018; Gill &

Donsker, 2019 ). بنابر این نام کامل این گونه به شکل زیر تغییر می‌کند:

There have been some changes in taxonomy of birds in recent years. One of these change has happened for the Ruff. According to the change, the Ruff moved to the group stints and its genus changed from Philomachus to Calidris (Gibson & Baker 2012, Banks 2012). This change has been addopted by most of world checklists (Clements et al., 2018; del Hoyo et al., 2014-2016; Christidis et al., 2014; Boyd III, 2017; HBW and BirdLife International, 2018; Gill & Donsker, 2019).
